Will Bridges

I spent the past couple months working for a volunteer project called unburdenus.org. This effort was ill spent on my part because the head of the project decided I didn’t have enough volunteer time for the project. Really, I don’t have much time to volunteer because I’m so busy with work but it’s the way he did it that was really kind of awkward and ignorant. He didn’t really let me know he was going to do it.

So, this has made me very apprehensive about volunteering my time for anything because I spent so much time thinking and working about that idea and then he disregarded my effort. All the while he was telling me how impressed with my work and creativity he was. I’m not sure but I think he just didn’t want to share the spot light or had some personal issues that overflowed in to his professional life. But, you know, sometimes people can’t separate a personal and professional relationship.

All I have to say is it’s his loss because I’m really a great programmer and a visionary when it comes to creativity as all my current clients would attest to. The software industry is very difficult and since he doesn’t have a software background I would warn him to tread carefully because this is a very different animal than what he is used to.
