Tea Party 2007

It’s time we showed them we aren’t going to take it any more. A couple hundred years ago Americans protested the British over a tax on tea. Our income tax and inflation is way out of control and it’s time we too protested and take back our country to once again make it free of those who would take our liberty. Call me crazy if you like but Give me liberty or give me death still holds true for me. Please watch the short and inspirational video below and go to Tea Party 07

Went To Ron Paul Rally In Nashville

This past Saturday Ron Paul came to Nashville. I was able to go with Yendis (my girlfriend) and we had an incredible time. Ron Paul was an exceptional speaker to see in person and being there really motivated me to get more involved in the campaign. If you are interested in seeing what I saw. The War Memorial Auditorium was packed. They said they were turning people away. 1440 people showed up. It was really high energy. Here’s the full video of the Ron Paul rally below.

What I Want In A President

I'm really tired of elected public officials that are less than genuine in their desire to serve the public and very genuine about their desire for profit and personal gains. I would like to describe the type of president I would like to see in office and we'll see if anyone fits that bill at the end of this.

  1. Someone who is against the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, Bush Asset Seizure Executive Order and any other Act or Order which dilutes the rights guaranteed to us through the Consitution.
  2. Someone who will protect the Constituion with their life by upholding their oath to the Consitution.
  3. Someone who will not dilute the human rights of US citizens or any foreign nationals within our confinement.
  4. Someone who understands that freedom is more important security and by passing laws to decrease our freedoms we are no better than our enemies.
  5. Someone who understands the War on Drugs is foolish, wasteful, unimportant and a capital infringement on the rights of individuals freedom to choose what is right for themselves.
  6. Someone who understands the Internal Revenue Service is way out of control and needs to be abolished immediately.
  7. Someone who understands our fiat monetary system is headed for failure and the Federal Reserve is an institution of elite bankers that will eventually destroy the freedom completely in this country.
  8. Someone who reads legislation before they sign it.
  9. Someone who understands the intent of the founders of this country and can quote history to back it up.
  10. Someone who understands the DHS is an overwhelmingly useless bureaucracy.
  11. Someone who wants to get us out of empire building and bring us back to focusing on home.
  12. Someone who understands the importance of Habeas Corpus and will make sure it is put back in place and can never be suspended.
  13. Someone who understands the government that governs the least is the most effective government.
  14. Someone who will trust citizens to make their own choices about what is right for them and not create more government agencies to waste money and time.
  15. Someone who is against regulation of the internet by government powers.
  16. Someone who practices what they preach.
  17. Someone who will inspire a new generation of Americans to new heights.
  18. Someone who inspires me to do more.

Some of you have figured out I'm talking about a certain person. Let's take some quotes from this person in to account.

"Only by recapturing the spirit of independence can we ensure our government never resembles the one from which the American States declared their separation."

"The most important element of a free society, where individual rights are held in the highest esteem, is the rejection of the initiation of violence."

"The problem is that politicians are not supposed to have power over us– we're supposed to be free"

"Freedom is defined by the ability of citizens to live without government interference. Government cannot create a world without risks, nor would we really wish to live in such a fictional place."

"The international elite, including many in the political and economic leadership of this country, believe our constitutional republic is antiquated and the loyalty Americans have for our form of government is like a superstition, needing to be done away with."

"To calm fears, Americans accepted the patriot act and the doctrine of pre-emptive war. We tolerated new laws that allow the government to snoop on us, listen to our phone calls, track our financial dealings, make us strip down at airports and even limited the rights of habeas corpus and trial by jury. Like some dysfunctional episode of the twilight zone, we allowed the summit of our imagination to be linked up with the pit of our fears."

"Having federal officials, whether judges, bureaucrats, or congressmen, impose a new definition of marriage on the people is an act of social engineering profoundly hostile to liberty. "

"Cliches about supporting the troops are designed to distract from failed policies, policies promoted by powerful special interests that benefit from war, anything to steer the discussion away from the real reasons the war in Iraq will not end anytime soon."

"I am absolutely opposed to a national ID card. This is a total contradiction of what a free society is all about. The purpose of government is to protect the secrecy and the privacy of all individuals, not the secrecy of government. We don't need a national ID card."

"The American concept of independent nationhood inscribed in our Declaration cannot be maintained if we are going to pursue a policy that undermines the independence of other nations."

"The greatest threat facing America today is the disastrous fiscal policies of our own government, marked by shameless deficit spending and Federal Reserve currency devaluation."

"Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms."

"The moral and constitutional obligations of our representatives in Washington are to protect our liberty, not coddle the world, precipitating no-win wars, while bringing bankruptcy and economic turmoil to our people."

"You wanna get rid of drug crime in this country? Fine, let's just get rid of all the drug laws.  "

"Abolishing the Federal Reserve will allow Congress to reassert its constitutional authority over monetary policy… Though the Federal Reserve policy harms the average American, it benefits those in a position to take advantage of the cycles in monetary policy. The main beneficiaries are those who receive access to artificially inflated money and/or credit before the inflationary effects of the policy impact the entire economy. Federal Reserve policies also benefit big spending politicians who use the inflated currency created by the Fed to hide the true costs of the welfare-warfare state. It is time for Congress to put the interests of the American people ahead of
the special interests and their own appetite for big government. "

So, who am I talking about? None other than congressman Ron Paul. Yes, I would have considered myself one of the least likely people to support any republican. However, I feel that party lines in this case do not matter and that party lines are a way to separate people. We need some real change in this country and I am sure that Ron Paul is one of the few that will be able to do it. Here's some good info on Ron Paul.

America: Freedom To Fascism

I’ve always been extremely worried about our country straying away from the foundation of freedom it was built on. I suspected something was going on that just wasn’t right. This something seemed to be eroding our freedoms and slowly eating away at what it means to be a Citizen of the United States. I suspected, but was not aware of actually how deep this goes. It’s a story that starts around 1913 and ends in the devaluation of our money, the removal of personal property, the abolishment of our constitution, and the beginning to a world government. Sounds like a conspiracy theory? Yes, but the facts add up. I’ve read about this around 2001 before 9-11 and read more about it afterwards but I wasn’t sure about what exactly to do. It still wasn’t enough information. I was outraged that I had been lied to about everything from taxes to our constitution. I was embarrassed at the complacency and apathy of my fellow Americans.

Now, it takes quite a bit to make me afraid. I refuse to live in fear. When I do get fearful I tend to look for a solution than to bow down to what I fear. Some how I came across this video America: Freedom to Fascism which is a movie created by Aaron Russo that he released to the public through google video and is also available on DVD. What I learned from this video about the history of our country, the IRS, the Federal Reserve, and the big plans of those in power disgusts me so much I have no words to explain how angry I am. I realize there is nowhere in the world I can go to escape what those in power want to do but there are things I can do to help. I want to help secure freedom from tyranny for my children and the future generations of children. This is a hard fight though and I’m not sure how we will win but I believe we can win. I hope you all watch this video and do what you can to help reverse the process which is happening right now. I’m going to be researching what I can do and how I can apply my skills. But, trust I will be doing something.

Why Move To A Developing Nation?

Many people have said ‘Why are you moving to a developing nation in South America?’ For those of you that didn’t read the post I’m moving to Uruguay in early 2008. I’m in the process of learning Spanish and saving some capital from my flourishing business.

Let’s get back to why I’m leaving the states and why I want citizenship in a developing nation such as Uruguay. It’s not the top reason but I’ve deeply lost most of my faith in America. We are destroying the middle class with debt, drugging up millions of our children on addictive pharmaceuticals, and taking away people’s freedom in favor of security. These are not the ideals I value and not the ideals I want to give to my son. I will not give my son a legacy of debt, drug addition, stubborn blind faith, and fear.

People will say ‘Will, you’re leaving. You’ve given up on America.’ I haven’t given up on America. America gave up on me, it gave up on freedom, and it gave up on the trust and care of it’s people. America is each and every one of us. So, the truth is we may have given up on ourselves. I still feel this country can pull out of it. But, it will do that without me soon. I will be back and I will exert my influence to help change in the country that is my home. But, I will make myself, my children, and my partner citizens of the world. We will diversify, adapt, and give our children the ability to do so. I want to raise a new generation of American. One who can see our country from a world view, think large, and feel close to everyone.

I’m moving to a developing nation because I feel we can grow better there. The same reason people left to come to America. I’m leaving to advance myself, my family, and to be free of the policies of this nation that no longer reflect my personal policies. There is room for change in the US and I think we may be on the verge of positive change. But, there is a lot of change to go and a lot of greedy hands in the way of that change.

Overall, I believe in us and our ability to change and grow. But, I need to grow, change, and diversify. So, I’m sorry home and I love you but we have to part ways for now.

Bush Twins Gone Wild

Those crazy drunk chicks are running around Argentina having a great 25th birthday. So much so, they got one of their purses stolen and there are reports that the embassy asked them to leave. I wonder if they will be on the next Girls Gone Wild movie. Hypocrisy is great isn’t it, Mr. Bush? Oh, when they come back I guess you can all sit down and pray for forgiveness with them.

Death of Liberty

Americans really need to open their eyes. Benjamin Franklin once said:
“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
The best thing we could have done to show the terrorists that we stand united and America will not be budged by their actions is absolutely nothing. By taking away the liberties and freedoms we enjoy to increase our safety, we take away the protections that the founders of this country gave us when they founded this country. Those protections keep us from being ruled by tyrants and aristocrats. We should not erode those freedoms one bit. If we give an inch then we will give a foot and then we will give a yard. It’s only a matter of time. There are tyrants in this country that want to take away our rights to further exploit us for their will. We should be on the watch for things like allowing illegal wire tapping on citizens, being able to detain people without evidence of a crime, allowing toucher. These things are a prelude to the destruction of our essential liberties and not only that but they represent the fact that Americans no longer care about the world around them. Further Americans may have lost the fight that founded this country. Let’s hope the rest of us wake up before it’s too late.

Victory

Since I was sick and didn’t post yesterday. I would just like to say ‘VICTORY!’. The dems control the house and the senate. Now, I hope we can get some real things accomplished and the democrats use this time to prove themselves as the party that cares about the people. If they don’t, they will be in trouble come two years from now.

Sometimes I think deep in the back of my mind there are some republicans that wanted the democrats to win and hope that they fall flat on their face so the republicans can take the presidency in 2008. If that’s the case then the democrats better do what they promise and make a difference. Come 2008, if they haven’t the republicans will be there, waiting to take everything back and blame the democrats.

The democrats sure did inherit a mess and it’ll be interesting to see what they can do in 2 years time. I hope that they can do it. If they can, it will lead this country back in to being sensible and making responsible choices based on the plight of the average americans and not the corporate interest or the rich as decisions have been made in the past.

Good luck to you democrats & congratulations. Please take advantage of this time to do the right thing and show Americans you are the party of progress and change.

An Attempt To Vote

I’m almost certain I registered to vote when I got my TN license. However, I went and stood an hour in line and found out I was not registered to vote. So, my opinion won’t count this election. I bet I won’t have the same problem next election. But, it does serve me right standing in line that long because I had plenty of time to get my status worked out and make for certain my vote counted. Hopfully, my discussions with everyone swayed a few people to vote for what’s right. But, the unfortunate truth is most people my age don’t vote.

Voting Day

I’m so pissed I didn’t register to vote. My friend Jackson got me the forms to register but it got to be late on the deadline day and it completely slipped my mind because I was so busy. However, I could have swore I registered to vote when I got my Tennessee license. Maybe I should go to the voting place and check it out to see if I’m on the list. Then, maybe I will be able to vote. I really want to. It’s a thick race here in Tennessee and I really want to do all I can to see the democrats back in power.

Let me clarify. I don’t just want to see the democrats back in power just because I’m a democrat because I’m not. I have a lot of conservative values. I just believe these aren’t the republicans that I learned about. These republicans want to take away rights with constitutional amendment, they are corrupt with power, for the corporate interest only (it seems), and generally destorying the middle class by policy. There are some republicans that aren’t like this but from what I’ve seen the current administration and friends of the administration are like what I describe and I can’t stand to see them in power.

I’m in an interracial relationship which would have been illegal not to long ago (yes, it was illegal at one point in time) until we realized this was none of the government’s business. Who people fall in love with and marry is none of the legal system’s business and it never should be. Every time I think we have come so far as a society it seems I find out we barely moved at all.
